If you’re going to be thinking anything, you might as well think big.” Donald Trump

Before the setup of my marketing company, Perfect Pitch Marketing Group, I had no idea what kind of business to go into. I just knew I wanted to go into business and was determined to make things work. I had the right attitude, but the hardest part was deciding on a business idea I felt confident I could do … until someone gave me some information about the VoIP business opportunity. That got me thinking big in this direction.

Figuring out what online business to go into can be overwhelming. Just look into Google and you see pages of suggestions. Which ones are the legitimate ways to make money online? What kind of business is the right business idea? Just like me, I know a lot of people who want to start their own business, but don’t know how or where to start, and just need a helping hand towards the right direction.

Basically, I just ask myself this question when figuring out ideas: “Is my good idea, a good idea to others, too?” It’s the basic economics of supply and demand. For any business to work there has to be consumer demand. If I believe in a product or service and many other people think the same way, then I go for it. It’s all about market research and gut-feel for me … knowing the great product in detail, zeroing in on the target market, studying the competition, estimating market challenges, and trusting my instincts. These are some of the online business ideas I am into, which I believe are legitimate, long-term, guaranteed ways to make you money online. These business ideas cost very little to start up, but have very promising returns on investment when done correctly:

Through your Blog or Website

Renting out advertising space to marketers, if your site has high traffic then advertisers can pay you to place their banners or pop-ups on your site

Contextual advertising by simply displaying ads related to the content on your web-page and earning from the number of clicks made (Google’s Ad-sense program or Kontera)

There are actually different blog styles to fit your business concept. You can find out here: Dosh Dosh: How to Make Money Blogging

You can make money with your blogs by means of paid blogging. See how here: Dosh Dosh: A Definitive List of Paid Blogging Websites

Use your website as an e-commerce storefront to sell products/services complete with online catalog, shopping cart, multiple payment options

Use your website to sell informational products. Highlight your expertise or any skill you’re good at and then promote. There are people who would pay to know what you know.

Through Affiliate Marketing and Network Marketing

No matter what you might have heard about online affiliate marketing and network marketing being scams and all, I know for a fact that most affiliate and network marketing programs are legitimate companies and that you can make substantial income through them.

In affiliate marketing, you earn one time commission on each sale made. Good examples: Amazon, Clickbank, DISH Network affiliate program

In network marketing, earnings are based on the number of levels achieved, personal sales plus downline sales and referral fees. Good examples: 5LINX VoIP network marketing program and other network marketing ideas here.

No matter which marketing method you use, make sure you examine the product/service and the income structure so that you get the most out of these two systems for your business.

These are all legitimate and profitable business ideas to start with. I hope one of them inspires your business vision. And keep in mind, there are countless get-rich-quick scams out there, so be careful. There is no easy road to success. If any business idea sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Do research, weigh up all the pros and cons, don’t procrastinate, make the decision and then get started on making the idea a reality right away.

Grilli sits down with Cleveland Indians beat writer, Nick Camino, on WTAM 1100 AM Cleveland Indians Radio, aka The Big One in this up close and personal talk about Spring Training 2010.

Listening to Grill Cheese talk about topics including, his chances of making the 2010 version of the Cleveland Indians, his off-season preparation and pitching for Team Italia in the World Baseball Classic makes it nearly impossible to think of anything, but Opening Day.

Grilli and fellow Italian, Camino, share some good ol’ Pisan humor during this candid and entertaining interview at the Indians Spring Training facility in Goodyear, AZ. Grill and Camino even break away from baseball for a bit and discuss Grilli’s business, Perfect Pitch Marketing and the new CU3000 Globalinx Video Phone.

So sit back, relax, oil up the mitt and listen to Grilli talk baseball on WTAM 1100, The Big One!

5LINX® Enterprises, Inc., with it’s center of operations located in Rochester, New York, is a privately held company enclosed in approximately 50,000 square feet of facility regulated by a workforce of 175 employees that manages all it’s corporate activities consisting of network operations, call center, marketing, product development, and engineering.

Now a well-known leader in today’s telecommunications industry, 5LINX® has been recognized throughout the years by many highlights in it’s line of business. Registering an 800% growth over the past 3 years, it currently holds distinction as being included in Inc.500 Magazine as one of the fastest-growing companies in North America, an honor it has upheld for 4 straight years now. In addition, 5LINX® has made it into the prominent list of the Top 100 Companies in it’s hometown region of Rochester, NY.

5LINX® was set in motion in March, 2001 by three futurists, equipped with more than forty years of combined experience in the telecommunications and direct selling trade, who had the determined purpose of becoming a major player in the VoIP telecommunications industry. To attain this goal, their plan was to become a top supplier of cutting-edge VoIP technology by drawing on the skills and expertise of a network of independent marketers. These independent market representatives would shape 5LINX’s renowned sales force, with each individual substantially gaining from a business model very unlike the traditional, passive and conservative marketing style.

The 5LINX® business ideal is founded upon these five deeply-rooted principles:

Vision: The foresight for the imminent opportunity in the communications industry

Integrity: For the veracity that represents every 5LINX® product and service

Opportunity: The chance, the break, the possibility to succeed without limits

Freedom: The right and free will to determine your own success

Success: The motivation for the execution and realization of your own predetermined benchmark for profit and growth

To bring into fruition these five principles, the 5LINX® business model would require a marketing strategy that was not rigid and inflexible as the conventional marketing methods, but a plan that regards a yielding to change, making improvements from failures, and adapting the go-getting, can-do perspective. It calls for a unique distribution method for it’s built-in income and business opportunity; a sharing, a giving out and spreading out of these resources to all who could do with the help it affords to change people’s lives. The 5LINX® network marketing strategy brings into play the combined expertise and efforts of independent individuals.

It supports the company’s accepted wisdom: Representatives come first. This business philosophy clearly shows the company’s dependability and full-backing to the dedication and capability of it’s self-motivated sales force. These representatives are separate and autonomous entities from the 5LINX company itself. They are not salaried staff, but highly self-sufficient, self-governing, self-directed, self-motivated businesspeople whose contributions and hard work are compensated by means of a fixed, clear-cut earning plan.

5LINX® is well invested on the growth of it’s distributor force. It ensures that every individual representing the 5LINX® name is well-equipped for success. Upon sign-up, these representatives undergo comprehensive training and are provided with business support materials that help them gather new customers and portray the right image. 5LINX® also ascertains the open communication policy among it’s valued sales force, a fact verified by the publication of the company’s own Vanguard magazine which is circulated three times each year for the purpose of imparting up-to-date information on the latest in the telecommunications industry, promoting upcoming corporate events, providing details about new products, announcing changes in procedures, and conveying the public recognition due to qualified representatives who have reached varied levels in building their businesses.

For very little risk and a very minimal investment, these decidedly proactive, hands-on, no-nonsense business men and women have taken the chance to start their own business and transform their life. Listen to the many lives which have been extraordinarily transformed by the 5LINX® business opportunity:

Some of the The 5LINX Success Stories

5LINX® believes that it is precisely this independence, this autonomy that empowers people. Granted with the freedom and the lack of restrictions to define their own success in life, people are enforced to look into themselves and own up to the responsibility of making changes and improvements.

The 5LINX® business opportunity may be your once-in-a-lifetime chance to create extraordinary income by getting into the full benefit of the VoIP wealth trend. Business ownership and financial success depends entirely on you. The choice to change your life is yours to make. Will you take the chance?

That’s what we always hear about network marketing. It has been repeated a thousand times over by network marketing experts. And yes, as professional network marketers, we are called upon to honestly recognize and genuinely practice the value of building relationships as a way of life.

And yet, selling is integral to marketing. We should lay much emphasis, in fact, on the selling. We need to sell. It’s called for because it’s where the money comes in. It’s our way to make a living, and if we don’t make a sale, and carry on selling after a sale, then we lose the point of why we’re in marketing and why we’re making the effort to build relationships with those who are in business with us. So, selling is ever present in the network marketing equation. Yes, it is put aside somewhere in the back of our minds as we build relationships with potential leads because we don’t need to be too obvious, but it is our primary intention and fixed objective to close the deal. If we don’t get the selling part accomplished at some point with one prospect, we move on to the next prospect and play the process once again —why? — because we need to sell.

We hate to admit it, and it is laughable, but it is with the selling part that network marketing has earned it’s unsavory reputation. We hear it being said about network marketers being two-faced, smooth-tongued, phony, scheming, and disreputable — and it’s for the reason that people have been traumatized of being duped, manipulated and lied to. Although we truly build relationships from the bottom of our heart, yet we are regarded with suspicion — alleged that we’re forced to suck up because we need the other person to make the sale. Those are pretty blunt assumptions but, hey, can we really blame the public for being cynical when alongside the legit businesses, there are the illegal MLM scams and the unlawful pyramid schemes?

Let’s just keep it real, we are notoriously branded thanks to it’s ill-repute. It is the usual first impression about the network marketing profession. We hear plenty of customer feedback about being manipulated and sold some crummy product, or being misled because of some false advertising, or ripped off because of some fabricated income report. Let’s blame it on the unprofessional, or the amateur, or the untrained, or the inexperienced, or the incompetent, or maybe they’re just downright rude salespeople. But it’s hustlers like these who give network marketing a bad name. Nonetheless, we also see their point: they need to sell, they need to make a living, they need to make money …they just do it by means of offensive in-your-face and thick-skinned money-hungry selling.

So now, let us be true to ourselves, when all is said and done, it is and will always be about the money. Selling is equal to marketing. But to add to the equation of selling and the resulting money, network marketing is also about giving. Sounds too cliché, but no, selling and giving really do go hand in hand with network marketing. It is because we build relationships in network marketing that we are obliged to be giving. It is the giving part which renders to the selling part the human aspect in network marketing. Giving is the reason, the excuse, and the justification for successful selling.

For the true and the legit network marketing businesses, that’s the whole idea behind building relationships. Giving is about working together with people. Giving is sharing helpful content. Giving is providing expert responses to questions. Giving is awarding a free offer or holding a contest as an additional benefit to customer loyalty. Giving is training, coaching, counseling your membership base. Giving is all about treating people right in this people business. It is about imparting due respect and garnering respect, passing on trust and gaining trust in return, offering your loyalty and acquiring their loyalty in due time, to be granted the right to do business with them and then taking that right as the opportunity to sell.

Selling is supplementary; it’s an add-on, an accompanying extra, an additional benefit to all that you are giving. Money-making is consequential, a tangible bonus to your efforts in building relationships.

Network marketing is effective money-making because there is giving as well as selling. If the rules are played right, everybody can be really happy. Because whatever sale is made at the end of the day, you’re indebted because someone gave you something and at the same time you’re gratified because you gave someone something. I’ll say network marketing is out-and-out giving and just sort of selling. There is a great deal more to give than to sell. How? First of all, you’re selling a product, there in itself is giving as you’re supplying to a person’s need for something. In addition to that, you’re also giving an income opportunity — that’s equivalent to giving an advantage to someone who is disadvantaged in life. How can anyone question the authenticity of that?

All the giving is what makes network marketing so reputable, so highly-regarded, so honest. Giving + Selling = Network Marketing. Hey, maybe it’s an equation that’s on a par with the mechanical equation of kinetic energy. Yeah, go figure. Main thing: the giving plus the selling should be your fundamental guiding principle in network marketing, just as indispensable as the principle of kinetic energy is to the law of physics and to the law of life.

5LINX® Enterprises, Inc is built on this same equation of network marketing. 5LINX® is a leader in the telecommunications industry. The number one reason is network security. Simply, network security shields from identity and data theft.

The high risk of security and privacy concerns, which means the high possibility of confidential, top secret information leaking, is the utmost threat for a corporate network which uses Skype. Find out why:

Skype requires all computers to download specific software to conduct a call. This computer will then serve as a communication switch. Allowing a district computer to conduct unsecured communication is a significant security risk.

How does GLOBALINX compare? GLOBALINX Videophones allow a district computer to conduct communication through a secured switch. The traffic moves encrypted data from the Videophone through the internet and into GLOBALINX’s switching station. From this point, the switch converts the data so it can be sent to another Videophone or telephone source.

Another point: Skype requires a large number of ports to be opened. The sources of data traffic through these ports will vary and not be easily monitored. GLOBALINX, on the other hand, limits the number of ports that are required to be opened. Once the range of ports is opened, specific IP addresses can be assigned to these ports. This significantly reduces any network security risks for a district.

It is given that Skype’s identifiable component is it’s effortless ability to transmit calls right through firewalls and Network Address Translation (NAT) systems. That component is also it’s weakest point. The voice stream, which is simply data, can be use by hackers to evade firewalls, set off an attack and generate a huge mess on the corporate network. When this happens, it can break down the entire corporate network in just minutes.

For community institutions or major corporations, like hospitals that deal with your vital background information or banks that deal with your financial details, that is a foremost cause for alarm. Imagine someone getting hold of your school records and replicating them as their own, or some crook obtaining your bank details to steal from your bank account.

If it has that ability to break down big networks, imagine what it can do to the ordinary folks? Regular people like us, common households and small businesses that only have the simple forms of computer security installed.

Skype makes it so easy for anyone to transfer and download bulk files. As you do business or simply chat over someone on another Skype channel, do you realize that you can possibly send out this much information about you through a widely open and fragile portal?

Complete Name

Location details: Country, street address, state, city, zip code

Phone number, mobile number, fax number

Birth details

Business or work details

Email address

Passwords

Gender

Chat history

Photos, personal files

Financial details

Scary, huh? Would you risk passing all that through a software program that’s unverified and where anyone can so easily find a way around your secure firewall? Well, I hope I’ve made a point.

GlobaLinx uses the SIP standard, a published standard that is generally accepted. All call controls are handled through a central server.

Skype’s free calls are only limited to Skype-to-Skype users, if you want to make calls to actual phone numbers then subsequent charges are applied. While GlobaLinx videophones charge a flat rate of 29.95 for it’s unlimited home video plan, that’s still a lot cheaper than what you would pay for a traditional phone service. For one low monthly cost you can expect to get the following: UNLIMITED local, long distance and mobile calls anywhere in the U.S., Canada, Puerto Rico and U.S. Virgin Islands, UNLIMITED land line calls to 75 calling areas throughout the world, unlimited local and long distance calls to other GLOBALINX customers in any location worldwide, plus all of the benefits of the videophone features such as voice mail, caller ID, to mention just a few. With the GLOBALINX Videophone you can see and talk all you want with anyone around the world as you can interconnect with any SIP compatible VoIP system. Calls can be made using a wide variety of devices including a standard touch-tone phone.

For it’s supremacy in network security, GlobaLinx is the clear-cut choice if you want VoIP technology to work for you. It should be your alternative to Skype.

GlobaLinx is a leading VoIP telecommunications company providing cutting-edge VoIP services for residential and business clients. Good enough by all standards to make him one of the top middle relievers in the game, but the Hall of Fame is not yet calling. According to the record book that really counts, however, Grilli is a winner of the Cy Young Award, MVP and slated for induction into Life’s Hall of Fame.

After chatting with Grilli, it is clear that he is one of the good guys. Soft spoken, humble, and committed to helping those less fortunate than himself are attributes that don’t show up on the scoreboard. He is a man who thinks about family, friends and those less fortunate than himself long before he is concerned about his wins, losses or earned run average.

For those who are keeping score at home, Grilli is throwing a perfect game.

Grilli became involved several years ago with the Rockie Mountain Deaf School (Charter School) shortly after he was traded to the Rockies. Even though he has since been traded to the Texas Rangers and now signed with the Indians, he has become a regular fixture at the school to this day.

“I really wanted to do something for the community because that’s the type of person I try to be,” explained Grilli speaking from his Florida home. “My sister was a sign language interpreter, so when I got the letter from the school, I figured things happen for a reason.”

The letter Grilli refers to was part of a fund raising campaign sent to him by Kay Bohan, who’s son Troy is a student at the school. When the school was forced to move for the fifth time in 11 years Bohan started the “Sign’s of Summer” event to raise money for a permanent building.

“I sent out letters along with sports memorabilia to over 1000 athletes across the country. My hope was to get them to autograph the items so we could auction it off at our first event. I got back about 600 items, which was great,” explained Bohan.

“But I only got one phone call from an athlete asking how else he could help. And that was from Jason.”

Bohan explained that when Grilli got the letter he was so touched that he called his dad, Steve, who was also a pitcher for the Detroit Tigers and Toronto Blue Jays from 1975-79. Then he called his wife and his sister and read them the letter as well.

“I knew I had to help,” explained Grilli. “I called Kay and told her that signing autographs is the easy part. What else can I do to help?”

The two started talking about communication and how challenging it is for the deaf to communicate. At that point “a light went off” and Grilli told Kay about the Globallinx Video Phone, which he brings on the road so he can see his family when he calls them.

“I bring it so I can see my family and they can see me during times away from home”, explained Grilli. “So I sent Kay and Troy a video phone to see if it helped him communicate.”

Grilli has since donated several to the school to help the other 55 deaf students who attend. The 5 Linx company that manufactures the phones also gave away two video phones at the Signs of Summer fundraising event, as well as, paid for a one-year phone bill subscription for each one. Grilli became a company rep for 5 Linx and continues to market the phone through his Perfect Pitch Marketing company and his Wildpitchmarketing blog.

“Meeting Troy for the first time, made me melt,” explained Grilli. “These kids have such special needs. I have a son of my own and I would hope that someone helped him if he had the need. I just love them.”

Grilli went on to explain, “I hope you understand. I don’t do this so Jason Grilli get’s a gold star next to his name. I do it because it’s the right thing to do.”

Bohan, who described herself as “just a mom” is not employed by the school, but simply a very involved fundraiser.

“The school really lacks funding as the state cut our budget by over $134,000.”, explains Bohan. “The school is funded strictly by state funding and private donations and this fundraiser really helps out.”

Grilli is also involved with the award winning book “A Glove of Their Own”, the children’s baseball book which has captured the hearts of the nation.

“Both Jason and I are good friends with Bob Salomon (a team member that created “A Glove of Their Own” and the book’s promoter). Through sales of the book purchased from the A Glove of Their Own website using the Rocky Mountain Deaf School donor code, Salomon and Grilli donate $3.00 from each sale to the school.

Before hanging up the phone with Bohan and Grilli, I asked her if his involvement has lessened since he moved away from the Colorado and the Rocky Mountain Deaf School.

She laughed, “He’s as committed to the cause as I am. He’s on a mission and he and Troy are friends for life.”
